Please help ... really struggling to do something which I expect should be
easy …
Objective: display a simple page on our website that can display basic
customer details and that can be viewed/updated by our staff by logging onto
our web site and the required page.
Proposed Solution: using MS Access, design simple database with single table
that contains all customer details. Create a simple Data Access Page based on
this single table to provide simple html web page. Then move Access database
and data access page htdocs folder on ftp site to allow viewing/updating.
We use a hosting company to provide our ftp site and web site ... this host
services allows ASP.NET, ASP, PHP & Perl scripting.
When i place the access database and the data access page onto our FTP site
and then access the page through IE I can read and write through this page ..
however when I delete the access database form from home pc where I created
everything it then fails to fuind the data source so obviously it was not
pointing to the correct source to start with ...after that I am lost ...
Can you offer me advice and a detailed step-by-step approach to achieve this
