Using and Re-using Export Maps

I would like to use the same map for exporting MS Project
data into an Excel spreadsheet for multiple projects. I
have a formatting macro that works upon the data once in
Excel and it depends upon the format used in the export.
I would like to create an export map that could be stored
once and used in all of my project files.

How can I share the map created in one project file with
all my project files?

Is it possible to "see" the map the way you can see a
macro in Excel for editing and such?

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

In Microsoft Project 2002, when you get to the End of Map Definition page of
the Export Wizard, there is a button labled "Save Map..." If you click this
button, give the map a new name and save it, your map is not saved in the
project plan, but is saved in your Global.mpt file instead. When your map
is saved in the Global.mpt file, your map will be accessible in all current
and future projects. The Global.mpt file is like a "library" of your
standard and personal custom Views, Tables, Filters, Groups, Maps, etc.
Hope this helps.
