Using both dynamic and connector and association line

I want to connect topics to the main topic with a dynamic connector and also
connect some topics to each other with association lines. However, when the
association line is attached, the dynamic connector disappears, and vice
versa. Visio does not let me attach two types of lines to the same topic.

Seems fine here. Which version of Visio?
Is this happening on a brand new diagram or one that's been in use for
a while?
