Using Bullets in Powerpoint

There is a feature that allows you to display a number of shapes on your
slide that reduces by one each time a bullet comes up on the screen.

AJM,
I do not know of a feature that is native to PPT that would allow you to do
that. That said you could do something with an exit effect on shapes
combined with an entrance effect on a bulleted text.
Say you have a placeholder textbox with four bullets. You apply an entrance
effect to the textbox. Then you apply an exit effect on your shapes. In the
custom animation taskpane you drag each exit animation just under your
bulleted point and choose it to begin after previous.
Is that what you are after?

My understanding that this is a feature the is in the XP version of
powerpoint. I have seen it work but the presenter didn't know how his
employer had set it up. He did say the feature doesn't appear when he is
using Powerpoint 2000 or lower.
