using colums only in some places

I need to create a document that uses columns only in some places. (Other
places, I need to be able to type out to the right hand margin of the
document) When I try creating a document with two colums in the document,
and type in between the colums, the text in the right hand colum moves
around. How do I prevent text from moving all over the place?

You will need to insert Section Breaks before and after the part of the
document that is to be arranged into columns.
