I am having trouble sending an email using a certificate that I just
created. The CA is verisign. I installed the certificate, set the security
on the certificate as 'high' meaning that every time it is accessed the user
is prompted for a password. So when I go to send the email I do get prompted
for the certificate password, which I supply, but then I get the error: "The
messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists,
restart Outlook." The message doesn't get sent. The application remains in
the compose "child" window. I followed the directions at Verisign to a tee.
I get the same error when I use outlook and outlook express. I tried
rebooting the computer. The email of the account matches the email on the
certificate.
I am confused!!!! I just paid 20 bucks for this certificate! I want it to
work!
Thanks in advance!
