Using Email & Project Server 2002 for Team Collaboration Concurren

We would like to use Project Server as the team collaboration method for some
resources but use email as the team collaboration method for other resources
on the same project. We are using Project Server 2002 with M/S Project
Professional as the client. Can we combine the collaboration methods on one
project, or must you choose to use either one method or the other within a
given project?

Any insights would be appreciated.
