Using Enterprise resources and MS Project Server

I have several subprojects that have a common pool of
resources. I was advised to not save the
master/subprojects to the Project Server, and to only save
the subprojects to the project server.

This solution seems simple as long as the resources are
listed explicitly in the individual subprojects. However,
I have a pool of resources that are shared across several
of the subprojects...so is there a way I can configure
enterprise resources in MS project and project server to
solve this problem? If so, how do I do it?

The final solution would mean enterprise resources(i.e.
the engineers assigned) would be able to view all of their
tasks for every sub-project they are assigned to via the
web, and project managers would be able to see all of the
sub-projects they are in charge of, information on their
resources, etc.

Your company's resources should all be entered in the Enterprise Resource
Pool by your Project Server administrator. Once this is done, you can
import each of these subprojects into the Project Server database by
clicking Tools - Enterprise Options - Import Project to Enterprise. As you
use the Import Project Wizard, pay special attention to the page which
allows you to match local resources with enterprise resources. Hope this
helps.
