Using filter in the front end

Dear members,
I have a front end where there is a FORMULAR which contain information about
a COMPANY and the PEOPLE working withing it, but when I try to use the
"filter", in order to find a particular information about a person or a
company, I get empty fields.And I know that the information is there, cause
I see it with the view in TABLE mode.Can you tell how can it retreive the
information I want?
