Using Frontpage SVR Extensions - offline

SirTom909

Hello,

Im hosting a website, offline on a shared network drive for my office.

I want to add a Feedback form aswell as a guestbook, however due to the
nature of the setup (hosting index from the drive, with users having a link
to the file)

is their a way insert these features without having to install the
extentsions, in light of that is it possible to install server extensions on
a network drive?

regards,

Tom

Not if you want to continue accessing it the way you describe. The network
share would need to be on a Windows 2000, Windows 2003 or Windows XP Pro PC
with a static IP Address and IIS (Internet Information Server) would need to
be installed. Then you'd install the FrontPage Server Extensions and the
users would have to access it via IP Address such as http://192.168.1.1
instead of //server//folder/filename
