Using "IF" function to change cell colour

Hi,

Could you tell me whether it's possible to use the "IF" or any othe
function to automotically turn cells green or red, while retaining th
data within these very cells.

I am working on approx. 20 sheets where cells containing figures fro
0-6 need to be highlighted in Red and 8-10 in green. However this i
takes an eternity to do manually. Is there a more simple way ?

Worksheet functions can't change cell colors.

Take a look at Conditional Formatting in XL Help.

Hi Orla,

This can be done in a very simple way using conditional formatting.

- select the range containing your data.
- goto Format menu, choose Conditional Formatting
- enter the data / conditions as per your request

you can add up to 3 conditions, more than that, use VBA
