using images on web

If I insert an image to my web that I have saved in a
folder on my hard drive...can I make the image smaller
yet still visible? pic originated from digital camera.
Hope this makes sense.....trying to figure out best way
to get good pics on my web.

Resize the image with an image editor. A great "free" one is IrfanView.
