I use Outlook 2002 on XP and I use Outlook Express on
Windows 2000 and on Windows 98. Both Outlook 2002 and OE
are configured to use my IMAP account on a Sun for
archival storage of mail. I find that using Outlook 2002
to move an email with an attachment to an IMAP folder
makes the attachment unaccessible by OE but accessible by
Outlook 2002. The Outlook Tools=>OPtions=>Security option
to delete attachments is not set.
The attachments are not removed, when Outlook moves an
email to the IMAP folder OE cannot access the
attachment. The email stays the same size and if I look
at the raw content the encoded attachement is still
there. Moving the email back to the Outlook Inbox allows
me to access the attachment with either Outlook or OE.
I'm am trying to make a Sun mail server and Outlook work
together, both sides may have decided that I deserve
punishment.
Has anyone seen this and do you have a fix?
