using mplayer.exe to test for compatibility of audio/video files?

I don't have mplayer.exe on my Win XP Home SP2 computer. I've read
that testing all of the audio and video files I'm going to include in
my PowerPoint presentation with this player is a good idea.

Can I just download an old copy of it somewhere? Any version?
