Using MS Excel and MS Access ineterchangeably

Hi all,
Perhaps this is the wrong forum but I have a couple of questions. First off
where I work we have a sharedrive where data is stored in Excel Format. I
also have an Web page where people can enter data thats not linked thru the
sharedrive. Then the data is manually put from the webserver to the
sharedrive and charted in Excel. Is there a way that the webserver and the
sharedrive can share the data and end up outputting the data in chartform
thru the webpage? And perhaps you could give me a sysnopsis of how this could
be achieved?
