Using Multiple "Identities" in Outlook 2000 Corporate or Workgroup

R

Rick

Hi..

I recently switched from using Outlook 2000 in "Internet Only" mode to
working in "Corporate or Workgroup" mode. One of the nice things I enjoyed
in "Internet Only" mode was the ability to create an e-mail message and
select the "From" identity for the message header.

I can't seem to reproduce this functionality in "Corporate or Workgroup"
mode without using a relatively clumsy profile methodology. Is there some
way to accomplish this feat without having to log out and log back into
Outlook with a new profile?

Thanks!!

No, you've already found the solution.

Later versions do not have this limitation.

Assuming by "From identity" you actually meant selecting your sending
account, C/W has no such ability. That's why Microsoft had to throw IMO mode
together at the last minute for users who wanted to use more than one
Internet Mail account.
Corporate mode doesn't support that feature since the MAPI spooler subsystem
doesn't have support for that kind of choice. The MAPI spooler simply
follows its delivery order (it wasn't designed with multiple transports of
the same type in mind). You can always reset your delivery order if you
want.
