Using Outlook XP to filter old Junk E-mail

P

Is there any way in Outlook XP to apply the junk e-mail filter to old
e-mails? I have about 10,000 messages I want to sort through, and I'd like
to use the filter to do a first pass through them. There only seems to be an
option to apply to filter to incoming messages.

Alternately, is there any way to access the junk e-mail filter through the
Outlook VBA object model (short of re-implementing filters.txt by hand in
VBA)?

Thanks in advance

Yes click on "Tools" in the menu bar at the top of the screen. Then click "rules wizard" and follow the prompts. You have to actually check the boxes for the rule items in order to implement a rule that is retroactive for mail already received. Then click the box at the bottom of the screen that says "run now". And that should take care of it.
