Using Powerpoint for a continuous presentation

I have an application where I would like to show a powerpoint presentation
continuously in a retail environment. My initial thinking was to purchase a
dedicated PC to run powerpoint, but this seems like over-kill. Is anyone
aware of some cheaper device to run this presentation in a dedicated mode.

To my knowledge, there is no such thing. Of course with the prices of PCs
so low I doubt anyone could build such a device and be cost competitive.

If this is not interactive, there are ways to convert PowerPoint to video
to run on a DVD player or VCR (basically, making a movie of your
PowerPoint).
