Using project for drafting deadlines

S

Scott Viney

Afternoon All,

I have a very limited knowledge of Project. Iam a structural draftsperson
and need a way to manage my deadlines and want to know if project can help
me.

At the moment I have 3 projects to do with multiple drawings for each. All
plans have different deadlines. Is it possible in project to have one
project file with details of each plan to be drawn for each job. But each
group of plans for each job will be together IE in a group.

Once all the plans to be done for each job have been added, is it then
possible to see if any have deadlines on the same day?

Other thing is then say for instance in 2 weeks time I receive another
project can I then add these drawings to be done to this project file?

Any ideas and help would be appreciated,
Scott V

I think you are better using Outlook or Excel. Your work is only part of
someone else's projects so creating a schedule for just your work wouldn't
help much as you would have to update it all the time to match changes in
everyone else's schedules.

I would predict hours to do each drawing then fit those hours into a daily
calendar. When you have conflicts, get priorities from the program manager.
