Using Project Professional to combine projects

I am a relatively new user. I would like to be able to
combine separate project documents in order to be able to
monitor task due dates in one place from tasks that may
come from different projects.

Can this be done with Project Professional alone or do
you have to combine it with Project Server? Is Project
Server a separate application and license?

If possible, where is the best place to get information
on how to accomplish this?

The answers are:
Yes, Project professional can handle this - what's more, if you don't use
server, project srtandard isjust as powerful.
Yes, Server is a separate license.
Information: apart from the obvious (go on a course, buy any book on
Project) look for help on Resource sharing
