What can Project Server Portfolio do?

Hi all,

I'm trying to find out what limitations there are to the following license
options. I know you can do everything with Microsoft Office Project
Professional 2007, but with the following licenses can we change dates, add
tasks, and edit resources, because there is a big price difference from Pro
and the next two.

Microsoft Office Project Server 2007
Microsoft Office Project Portfolio Server 2007

Thanks,
Paul

Project Pro and Project Standard are desktop applications. They have the same
basic set of features to create and edit project schedule files. Project Pro
has the capability to collaborate in conjunction with Project Server.

Project Server is a server-based application which allows you to store
project files in a database, collect updates from team members and share
project and resource information across intranets. With Project Server, you
use Project Professional to create and edit the project schedules.

Project Portfolio Server is an application for Portfolio management. It
doesn't let you edit, view or modify project schedules. Instead it has the
ability to do portfolio analysis and management. There is a bridge between it
and Project Server if you want to get data (limited sets of data) from
project files on the server.

If you are working on individual project files and don't need to
collaborate, just get project standard. If you want collaboration features
(time entry by team members, central storage, reporting functions) then get
Project Pro AND Project Server.

If you want to manage your portfolio get Portfolio Server. But from your
question it appears you would not be interested in it.
