Using Resource Pool to see overallocation

Hi,
I work in a group of planners that use Project pretty extenisively. We have
been asked to figure out a way to analyze overallocation across 16 large
projects using name based resources. Is it possible to create a common
resource pool, use the pool to resource load the 16 schedules and then use
the common resource pool to identify where resources are overallocated as a
cumulative number. Meaning, many folks are working on 3 or 4 projects at a
time and their managers want to know that in 6 months from now are they
unknowingly overcommitting themselves on some of these projects. Any help
would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Thanks.)
