Using the paperclip to attach a contact as an "item"

How do I attach contact information to an email in plain text for non-Outlook
users?

You can try the "Forward as vCard" command on the Actions menu in an open
contact. A vCard can be opened by a number of programs in addition to
Outlook

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it didn't work in either of the
email applications I tried this with.

Not a specific application. But, we occasionally correspond with people who
are not MS Outlook users, and wanted to be able to send information on a
contact in text format, without having to rekey the info. I tried your
suggestion with both a hotmail and earthlink address, and the information was
not transmitted to either person using those applications. There is an
option in Outlook to send contact as text using the paperclip/attach item
option -- but it is greyed out. I was hoping this was a setting which could
be changed to allow this type of attachment.
