Using the Web Wizard

Michelle

I registered a domain name a few days ago and I have a
Web host. I want to use the Web Wizard to create a site.
However, when I click "File, New, Web Templates" and
choose the template and type in the URL of the domain I
registered, I get the following error message when I try
to create the site.

("You cannot create a Web site
at "http://www.mydomainname.com" If there is a server at
that location, you may create a substitute by specifying
a location such as "http://www.mydomainname.com/mysite")

I am a newbee, so I need a someone that can speak in
laymen's terms to rescue me. Does anybody know how I can
use the Web Wizard to create a site using my new domain
name.

Thanks a mil..

1) It is best to create the site locally (on your disc) and publish it to the server
- that way you have a backup and are not working on the server
File, New, Web Templates, and browser to (or enter) a folder - say C:\MyWeb for the destination
When done creating your site use File Publish Web / Site and enter your URL

2) You can also create one on your live server, but 1st you need to open the server based web in FP
- the server requires the FP Server Extensions
File Open Web/Site and enter your URL
Then File, New, Web Templates and select the option to create in existing web
