Using + / - to hide unhide rows or columns

I have seen and used a worksheet where there is a + or -
button at the edge or top of the worksheet that hides or
unhides rows or columns. Can anyone tell me how this
feature is added to a worksheet?

Check under Data|Group.

And you can get the same kind effect (only rows, though) by using Data|Subtotal.

OR, you can get the same effect by SHIFT+ALT+Right Arrow to close the rows (creates the + sign) and SHIFT+ALT+Left Arrow to re-open them.
