Using Two Versions of Outlook

We need to send appointments between two users where one
is using Outlook Version 2003 and one is using Outlook
Version 2000. The appointments received from each other
are totally misconstrued. We need to know if there is
someway we can remedy this problem while continuing to use
two different versions?

The Outlook 2003 user needs to omit any reminder when sending a meeting
request to Outlook 2000 users.
