using WORD as e-mail editor

"This form requires Word as your e-mail editor but Word is either busy
or cannot be found"

************article describes my predicament but the solution does NOT
work--I followed all the steps three times, including rebooting. This is the
first time I have owned a computer fast enough to use Word for email, but
this error stops me.

1) Pentium4 3Ghz with 2.5Gb RAM
2) Gateway pre-installed Office2003 60-day trial which I moved to a
different location because I can't afford anything after buying the computer.
3) I installed from Cd all the versions I'm moving from the old computer:
Office97, Office2000 Small Business, OfficeXP Professional. I did this so I
would have BOTH ACCESS and the MANY Small Business Tools in the prior
versions of Office.

PROBLEM: now when I set Word as my e-mail editor, I ALWAYS get the error
even after doing the fix three times. I also tried Registry First Aid to fix
bad references--no improvement.
