VAC doesn't equal BAC-EAC

MS Project gurus,

I have an earned value problem in Project. My VAC does not equal my
BAC-EAC. I checked the internal help file and it definitely says the
following:

VAC = Budgeted At Completion (baseline cost) - Estimated At Completion

Sounds like something's wrong.

Do you know what would cause this to happen? Any way to mitigate the
problem? Thank you kindly.

I share your confusion. However, I think you will find VAC = BAC - Cost
