valid qualifying product error

I had to reformat my h/d, I reinstalled ms works, I tried to install my ms
office 2000 profressional and I get a 1608 error message "could not find any
preiously installed complaint products on this machine"
I think I reinstalled everything that was on before ...

You are trying to install an upgrade version, which is looking for a
qualifying previous full version.

You need to dig up your cd of the previous version.
