validation data

I have set up a spreadsheet which requires drop down boxes with data pre set.
I want to take the validation data from a separate work sheet. Can anyone
help me as at the moment I can only do this from the original sheet and the
validation data is in the way of progressing with the work sheet

Name the source ranges of Validation lists, and refer to these names when
defining sources!
