Validation of MS Office

I purchased MS Office 2003 Profesional in 2004. I received the product in the
original packaging with a jewel case that has the original inserts with the
key in the bottom left corner. The CD has what appears to be a legitimate MS
Office label. I used the software for nearly 6 years, receiving all updates,
service packs, etc., but now Microsoft tells me the copy is invalid. I
downloaded a trial version and received a key online. Everything SEEMS to be
legitimate, but I would like to know if this can be verified as I have no
documentation to prove this. I spent over $300 for the Office 2003 software
and it turned out to be bogus, I spent even more on this Office 2007
software, how can I be sure that Microsoft will not be telling me in the
future that my software is invalid?????

The process of online verification done during MSUpdate has been known to
give false positives, there is a specific group / contact point (which I
dont have) where MS support will check this.
So it appears you jumped before it was neccessary.
The proof for your new version is in the fact you purchased from a
legitimate scource
