Vanished images

Rosivaldo Fernandes Alves

Recently, I've lost images pasted in my documents with the command "paste
special", option "paste as: Figure (picture?)". Those are images from graphs
made with Excel or other applications that generate graphs. Suddenly, a Word
file saved with no reported problem, upon opening again, shows huge, red "X"
inside the area where there should be the pictures previously pasted. What
causes that? Better: how to prevent that?
