vanishing emails outlook 2003

If I read an email then close outlook 2003 when I reopen the prog the same
email has vanished. The only emails I have in the inbox are unread ones.
If I search for the missing email it comes up in the search windo but there
is no indication as to its new location. Any help please

Try clicking View>Arrange By>Current View>Messages instead of Unread
Messages.

UNder "View" click "Current View" be sure that "Messages" is checked and not
"Unread Messages"
