Variable Scheduling Rules

Hello. My company has a semi-monthly payroll period which falls on the middle
and end of each month. Since we use direct deposit, occasionally payroll has
to go through a day or two early.

I wanted to know if it was possible to schedule a recurring appointment
which would have a rule which moves the appointment back to Friday if the
date lands on a weekend. I haven't been able to figure this out, so I hope
someone can help.

No, you have to move them yourself.

Rules work on mail items, not calendar items.
