Variables both equal true

I have two check boxes and when they both equal True, I
need a message box to populate. My syntax is not correct
and was wondering if someone could tell me what I am doing
wrong? Thanks.

If (chk1) & (chk2) = "True" Then
MsgBox "Hi there"
