Various changes in Office applications don't 'stick'

I recently installed Office 2003, and when I make various changes they are
lost when I restart the application. Below are a few:

Removing a tool bar (ie. acrobat) from any office application comes back
after close and re-open of said application.

Turning preview pane off in an outlook folder (ie. inbox) will still be
there when I re-open the application.

Any folders dragged to the favorite folder area are lost when the
application is re-opened.

I've ensured that my domain user is added to the local Administrators group.
Doing that prevented the EULA dialog from showing every time I opened an
Office application, but it didn't help with this problem.

Thank you. I did that with no change. I am runing Vista Ultimate if that
makes a difference. I made sure that no office products were running when I
did the repair.

hmmm... From the start menu-> run key in

outlook /cleanviews .... or..... outlook /resetfolders

If both doesnot work a new profile is the best way to go about.
Also what all addins do you have installed?

That did help some. It did keep the reading pane off - that's good. However
the folders that I drag to the favorite folders area are lost the next time I
start outlook.

The on-line help for creating a new profile aren't the same in Vista - not
sure how to do that. This is a fresh install of office 2003 on vista
ultimate. Once I opened outlook and the original .pst file was created I
show down outlook and copied my previous .pst file over it.

As for add-ins none are checked. What is there however is 'google desktop
search outlook add-in' and 'exchange extensions property pages'.

For COM add-ins non are checked there as well, and they are 'google desktop
outlook tool bar' and 'TMAS add-in'.

After making sure that all add-ins were not checked I tried your previous
suggestion of starting outlook in different ways and the favorite folder is
still does not keep the folders previously added.

On another note, the tool bars that I would turn off and they would keep
coming back seem to be staying off now. Thanks!!!

Thank you for your help!
