I've tried to load various Office Packages, most recently the Office Basic
download, on my computer that has the last Windows 7 Eval Copy on it (Build
7100 - with all updates installed) and all Office 2007 packages and Office
2007 components fail installation with a bland message about being unable to
complete installation.
I tried using the compatibility tools, but that had no effect.
I tried loading a 2007 Excel as an upgrade to a 2003 Office (that was loaded
successfully) - no dice.
Office 2007 works fine on another computer where I upgraded to Windows 7
rather than loading it cold start.
I know this is technically an evaluation copy of Windows 7, but it is the
last evaluation version. I find no reference to people having a general
problem with loading office 2007 in any configuration in windows 7
environments.
