In VB6 when I use the data access control there are two
options JET and ODBC. VB6 uses jet to work with ACCESS.
Can someone please tell me when I would use ODBC? I
think I would use it when I want to access ORACLE or a
database other than ACCESS. Am I correct

Dave,

That's about it. You can also use OLEDB/ADO to access the the Jet engine
plus other databases like MS SQLServer, Oracle and a few others. If you want
to work with DBF databases like from dBase, Foxpro and others you need to
use ODBC.
