VBA 2007 (?!)

OK, I'm not a specialist in VBA.
Nevertheless, I succeeded in making a working function in VBE / EXCEL 2003
on Windows XP (my champion !)
After I decided that I needed a new computer, why not one with Windows 7 and
Office 2007.
What a mistake !
First of all, Windows 7 is not an improvement of XP, it is a lot of show,
but nothing essential.
And then EXCEL ! I had to retype everyone of my 18 (!) workbooks, because
"Convert" wouldn't work !
And, OK, there we are, after all my frustration : The few VBA UDF's I made
do not work under Excel 2007 !
Why, I don't know.
Has VBA changed ?
Please somebody help me !

BTW Try typing #VALUE in the Office 2007 help function : the reply telle you
EVERYTHING about "VALUE", but NOTHING about "#VALUE"
Sorry for the capitals and the "!"'s, but I spent days to "convert" to
W7-Office 2007, with meagre results.

I don't have a answer for you, but that is quite depressing... I have to
"upgrade" a excel project and from the sounds of it I'm going to be
re-writing it which will be fun considering I don't know how 90% of it works
nor does the person that wrote it remember... Going from 2000 to 2010. Only
up side is I've got 12 months to get everything done, though I'm thinking 18
is going to be more like it.

I'll be one of the first critics in line when it comes to Office 2007,
but I found the original gripe to be pretty much, well, "out there!"
I've seen nothing of the sort. Every XLS that I've tried opening in
2007 has opened up just fine. Yes, there were #NAME? errors on some of
the UDF calls, but those were because the f'n <spit>security</spit>
model in O2007 is *completely* f'd up! Once you restore it to "F!"
SECURITY, you're back in business.

Actually, I found Excel to be about the *only* compelling reason to
update to 2007, in the end. The better graphics and the extra columns
are both appreciated here.

YMMV...

It happens that temlehdrol formulated :

I don't understand either. Excel/VBA takes only a tiny bit of my time but I
have written and I maintain a system of about 5000 lines. I write on Office
2002 and users execute on Office 2007 and there has never been a
compatibility problem.
