VBA Converter Pack for Excel 2007 (Again)

S

I'm looking for a copy of the VBA Converter Pack. The last thread
entry on the topic was September 2008 but it apparently was not
resolved.

To recap: It is not the "Conversion Pack" and Microsoft has it but
does not offer it for download. I have a compiled third party add-in,
so cannot recompile in 2007.

That said, has anybody been able to round up the Converter Pack from
an alternate source?

Thanks,

SteveM

I have the same problem. The problem is referred to, but not solved, here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926430

Apparently such a thing as a "converter pack" (not to be confused with a
"compatibility pack") exists, but is not generally available. Can someone
point me to a site where I can download and install the "converter pack"?

Someone? Anyone? Please help. Thank you.

Dennis, you've made the same mistake as others. Your link is to the
COMPATIBILITY pack (to allow Office 2003 to OPEN Office 2007 files). The
CONVERTER pack is what's needed (to CONVERT earier versions of VBA to Office
2007 VBA).

I, also, am looking for this software!

Thnx, Tim

Therein lies the problem. KB article says "To resolve this issue, contact
Microsoft Product Support Services." When I contacted MS support, the only
answer I could get was a curt (quoted exactly) "Tim, I am sorry but VBA
Converter pack por Microsoft Office 2007 is currently not available from
Microsoft."

I asked specifically if there was another department or group I could
address this question to and was told "No".

I have a MSDN Premium subscription (just getting started in it), and have
not been able to find an answer or download there.

Thnx, Tim

I ask them when they were going to update that KB article reflecting this.

The solution is really simple !

Download two DLL files from www.dlldump.com and restart Excel.

I found the solution on http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=280893

"Two files were placed in \program files\common files\microsoft
shared\vba\vba6
vbacv10.dll
vbacv10d.dll"

For native language versions of Excel search for where the folder vba6 is
located and put the file there !

It worked very well for me!

Good Luck

Hasse,

Thank you very much for posting this! I don't know why I was stonewalled
when I contacted MS Support, but I'm very grateful to now have the solution.
