VBA & Paradox Database

I am using Office 2003 Prof. Through VBA in word trying to access an access
databaise which updates from a paradox database - hope this makes sense. I
have downloaded the latest jet engine but I keep receiving an error message
"External table is not in the expected format" when trying to open the
paradox dbase through access. Any suggestions?

Hi Joey,

You may want to also post this in the Word VBA
newsgroup (link below) but it sounds like the table in the
file may be corrupted, although you may want to
post more information on the coding your using, the
method and the results you're trying to achieve.

You haven't by any chance upgraded the Paradox table to a later version?
ODBC doesn't handle Paradox above version 5. Just a thought.

Thanx for the feedback. Using Paradox Version 4.0. Solved the problem. I
didn't have the BDECFG32.exe installed on that particular computer. Working
like a dream now. Once again, much appreciated. Just further info. If you use
paradox above 5 then you need different drivers which is obtainable from
Microsoft site.
