VBA triggering of shape animations

I want to find a way to click a button on a VBA Userform (not on a slide)
that will trigger specific shapes to animate (flicker for example). Is this
possible? If so, how?

There's nothing in the object model to facilitate this.

There's some vba trickery here which in some circumstances may do what you
need.
