What can I do with this. The program aborts, have
reinstalled several times with no installation errors
reported. Do I have to program my own word processor?
I would appreciate you advice and comments.

No - the problem isn't in the Word installation. You either need to
get rid of the offending third party add-in causing the error
(typically Adobe or WinFax) or disable the "Office Plug-in" option in
Norton AV in Norton Options.

If you opt to remove the add-ins they can be found in either the
Word\Startup folder (Tools/Options/File Locations) or Office\Startup
folder.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
