I keep getting an error message about graphics would be better if I
downloaded VML. It will not download successfully after a number of trys. Why
do I need VML?

What version of Word are you using;
what are the steps you're using when you
get this message; is it in more than one
document?

Vector Markup Language (VML) is used by
Word in its web documents and internally
for graphic structure and some of the use
can be controlled by the settings in
Tools=>Options=>General=>Web Options

VML represents the graphics with formulas
to be able to reconstruct a picture.

Hi Rustydog,

So the message isn't in Office then? There is a
vectorgraphics rendering component of Internet
Explorer (IE).

You may want to ask the IE folks in the newsgroup
link on this page:
http://microsoft.com/windows/ie/community/default.mspx
and include the version of Windows that you're using.

=======
ME. The message has shown up in Internet Explorer with e-mail when graphics
are included. I cancel the message and there is no apparent difference in the
quality of the graphic. (Sorry about the eariler reply message. My first time
at this.) >>
