Verizon Blocked Port 25

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop Verizon has blocked port 25 for sending. They say to use port 587. I have made this change and I still can not send mail. I have also checked the box "Use the same settings as receiving mail server", but still does not send mail.

Anyone experience and resolve this problem?
