Version conflict

Greetings,
I've created a file with Publisher XP on my office PC and tried to edit it
at home, whee I have Publisher 2000 (both have regular licence and are
registered). I'm getting a message saying "the version doesn't match, can't
open the file" (free translation from a non-English message).
I'm a bit surprised that 2K version can't read XP version - I never had a
similar problem with Word or Excel. It's me doing something wrong, or are
Publisher XP and 2K really incompatible? I'm a true beginner of publisher.
Both machines have Win2KPro, all patches and updates installed.
Thanks for any hint.

Microsoft Publisher 2000 is unable to open files from Publisher 2002 unless
they were saved as Publisher 2000 files in 2002 under the menu in Save As.
There will be some formatting loss in the conversion.
Publisher 2002 can open files from Publisher 2003 without a problem.

OK Ed, thanks, understood. I didn't suspect such a complete
incompatibility 2K -> 2K2. Next time I'll save my file as P2K.
Thanks again.
