Version information & other matters

I know you ask people to include the version of Outlook they're using, but
some don't, and many, many posts don't have it in their subject lines, so one
has to open it before finding out whether or not it's the right version.
(Mine is 2007.) So I am suggesting you add a line of check boxes somewhere on
this form to require people to check off their version. Then add a column
(sortable?) that displays it, over by the date. Solves two problems at once.

I also know you're volunteers and probably don't have the power to change
the set-up on your own, but maybe if you all bugged MS at once... ;-)

They should post that you're volunteers prominently, too, so people don't
vent their spleen on you innocent and helpful folks. Thanks for volunteering!
I sure wouldn't!

Cheers!

PS Another thought -- you'd get fewer Outlook Express questions if they
added it to the left nav.

What "form" is that? Not everyone uses the crappy web interface when
accessing this newsgroup.

Really? Because I don't see where there's a choice -- I pick the appropriate
category at the "Select new post" dropdown and get a popup box in which to
write my post. And all I was suggesting is adding another form field for the
version.

It was actually suggested at one time but for various reasons, it was
decided it would not work or would not have an appreciable difference in how
people post.

I didn't intend to imply you shouldn't make the suggestion. I only meant to
convey that a LOT of people would never see it even if it were implemented.
