Versioning Project Plans

In addition to the published version we have 2 version
names: Backup-01 and Backup-02. Users have made changes
to Backup-02 version and now they want to make it the
published version

any ideas??

Ranga:

1) Save the version of the plan that you'd like to become the new published
version as an mpp file. (Note that if you have used any Enterprise task
fields, you should copy these values into a non-enterprise field of the same
type first.)
2) Save any of the other versions that you'd like to preserve as mpp files
as well
3) From the admin menu, select Cleanup Microsoft Project Server database and
delete all versions of the plan from the server starting with the
non-published versions.
4) Use the Import wizard to bring the intended new published version back to
the server mapping your task fields if required.
5) Republish all of the assignments in the plan.

Gary,

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping that perhaps I
overlooked something and that there was an easier
approach, but I guess not. Do you or perhaps someone else
know if this is the same approach is required in Project
2003? My company is considering upgrading.
