Vertical Printing Problem

J

John Lane

I notice there is a Knowledge Base article stating the vertical property on a
report or form control makes the data in the control not display. I am
running Access 2003. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks.

I thought it was a font issue and the workaround was to use one of the
generic Windows True Type fonts. What is the KB article # you are referring
to?

I have been frustrated with the same problem. The MS knowledgebase article is
839779. I am just using the TT Arial font and I have tried changing it but no
help. MS just acknowledged the problem in 2004 and that was the end of it I
guess? My database is useless with this problem. I think the problem came
with either XP SP2 or Office 2003 SP1 or 2 becasue it worked ok for me before
I updated. Any kind of workaround would be great.

I solved my own problem. I found that MS OneNote was causing the problem. I
uninstalled it and the problem went away. Fortunatley, I don't use OneNote
or I would be discouraged for that being a resolution.

Thanks for posting the resolution Joe. It will help users in future searches
on this issue.

Actually, uninstalling OneNote only worked for me on a Windows 2003 Server
OS. I uninstalled OneNote on my XP SP2 clients, and I am still having the
same problem. Any more info on this issue would really be helpful. Thanks,
Joe.

Sorry, that is the extent of my knowledge relating to this issue. Just as a
guess, perhaps unistalling OneNote on the workstations left behind something
that is still affecting the rendering of the font or more a OneNote specific
version(s) of the font. To verify this, is there a workstation you can wipe
and do a complete reinstall on without ever installing OneNote?
