Vertical text on a page

I want to create a handbook which has the title of each section running
vertically down the left or right side of each page. How do I do this? I'm
using Microsoft Word (part of 2003 Professional edition of MS Office).

You do vertical text by inserting a textbox or frame, then choosing 'Text
Direction' from the Format menu. For your purposes, use a textbox anchored
to the header.

You do a running head by applying a specific style -- that's not used for
anything else -- to your section titles, then using a StyleRef field in the
running head.

Thank you!

I'm sorry, this doesn't make sense to me. Can you go into more detail on how
to create the vertical header?

Thanx,
Arlene
